Loyverse Alternative in the Philippines: When You've Outgrown a Free POS
Loyverse gives you a capable POS for free, and for many small shops that's enough. Owners start looking for an alternative when they need sales history past 31 days, staff and inventory add-ons on several stores, or bookings, rosters and AI in the same system. Here's how to tell if that's you.

Loyverse is a good free POS, and if you run a single small shop that only needs to ring up sales, track basic stock and see the last month of reports, you may never need anything else. You've outgrown it when you're paying for several add-ons per store, need reports beyond 31 days without extra cost, or want bookings, rosters, timesheets and an AI assistant in the same system as your till.
This guide is fair to Loyverse on purpose. It lays out what's free, what costs extra (from Loyverse's own pricing page), and the specific signs that it's time to move.

What Loyverse does well
Loyverse's core is free, needs no credit card, and runs on a phone or tablet you already own. According to its pricing page, the free tools include:
- Point of sale on phones, tablets and supported POS devices
- Sales analytics for the last 31 days
- Essential inventory, including stock for items and their components, with low-stock alerts
- A loyalty program
- A customer display and a kitchen display
- Multi-store management and integrations
That's a generous free tier. For a new sari-sari store, a small kiosk or a market stall testing an idea, it's a sensible place to start.
What Loyverse's paid add-ons cost
| Add-on (per store) | Monthly | Annual | What it adds |
|---|---|---|---|
| Unlimited sales history | US$9 | US$90 | View and export reports beyond the last 31 days |
| Employee management | US$25 | US$250 | Team performance, access rights and hours worked |
| Advanced inventory | US$25 | US$250 | Purchase orders, stock transfers and deeper inventory insights |
Each add-on is priced per store. One store with all three costs US$59 a month (US$590 a year). Two stores with all three cost US$118 a month. That's still reasonable value, but at that point you're no longer comparing a free POS with a paid one: you're comparing two paid systems on what they include.
Signs you've outgrown a free POS
- 1You need last year's numbers. Comparing this December with last December, or filing taxes from a full year of sales, needs history past 31 days.
- 2You have staff on shifts. Hours worked, permissions and per-staff sales start to matter the moment you hire, and they're the basis for payroll and 13th month pay.
- 3You order stock on a schedule. Purchase orders and supplier tracking save real money once you're buying weekly.
- 4You take appointments or reservations. Salons, clinics, studios and some cafés need a booking calendar next to the till. Loyverse's published product list doesn't include appointment booking, so you'd add a separate app.
- 5You plan staff around demand. Building rosters from the hours you're busiest needs rostering and sales in one place.
- 6You want answers, not just reports. "Which items should I reorder?" or "Who sold the most this week?" is faster to ask than to dig out.
- 7You're adding a second branch. Per-store add-ons multiply with every location, so compare totals, not headline prices.

- All-in pricing. Know the total for your number of stores with every feature you need, including history, staff and inventory.
- Recipes and stock. Ingredients that deduct with every sale, low-stock alerts and purchase orders.
- Staff tools. Rosters, timesheets and permissions in the same app as sales.
- Restaurant tools if you serve food. A kitchen display with stations, tabs per person, table and QR ordering.
- Bookings if you take appointments. An online booking page that feeds the same calendar your staff use.
- BIR readiness. Ask every vendor how their system is registered with the BIR and what they provide for your Permit to Use. Don't take a marketing page's word for it, including ours. Our BIR POS guide lists the questions.
- Local support. Someone who answers during Philippine business hours.
Loyverse vs Wemu at a glance
| Loyverse | Wemu | |
|---|---|---|
| Core POS | Free | Included (paid plans, free trial) |
| Sales history | 31 days free; unlimited is US$9/mo per store | Included |
| Employee management and hours | US$25/mo per store add-on | Rosters and timesheets included |
| Purchase orders and stock transfers | US$25/mo per store add-on | Purchase orders and reorder suggestions included |
| Kitchen display | Free | Included, with stations |
| Appointments and online booking | Not in published product list | Included |

| Pricing | Free core + per-store add-ons (US$) | Core US$29/mo; Growth US$49/mo per location (US$) |
If you only need a till, Loyverse's free tier is hard to beat and you should keep it. If you'd otherwise pay for two or three Loyverse add-ons, plus a separate booking or rostering app, an all-in system usually works out simpler and often cheaper.
Where Wemu fits
Wemu is built for small businesses that have more than a counter to run. The POS runs on Android and iOS tablets and phones, and the same account holds inventory with recipes that deduct stock, low-stock alerts and reorder suggestions, a kitchen display with stations, tabs per person, table and QR ordering, rosters and timesheets, online bookings, reports, and Wemu AI for plain-English questions about your sales and stock.
See the fit for cafés and restaurants or retail shops. Plans are billed in US dollars: Core at US$29/month and Growth at US$49/month per location, with a free trial to test it against your current setup.
How to switch without a bad week
- 1Export your items and customers from the Loyverse Back Office as CSV.
- 2Import them into a Wemu trial and set up modifiers and recipes for your top sellers first.
- 3Add staff, permissions and next week's roster.
- 4Run both systems side by side on a quiet day, then cut over at the start of a week.
- 5Keep your Loyverse exports for your records and for any BIR requirements on prior sales.
