What revenue reports tell you
Revenue reports show how much money your business is bringing in, broken down by products, services, time periods, and more. This is essential for understanding your business health and making informed decisions.
Navigate to: Sidebar → Reports → Revenue
Accessing revenue reports
- Go to Reports in the main navigation
- Select Revenue or Sales
- Choose a date range
- Review the data
Report breakdowns
The revenue report can be broken down by:
- Time period — Daily, weekly, monthly revenue trends
- Product/Service — Which items generate the most revenue
- Category — Revenue by product or service category
- Team member — Revenue attributed to each provider
- Order type — Revenue by dine-in, takeout, delivery, online
- Payment method — Cash vs. card vs. online payments

Key metrics
- Gross Revenue — Total sales before any deductions
- Discounts Given — Total value of all discounts applied
- Refunds Issued — Total refunds processed
- Net Revenue — Gross revenue minus discounts and refunds
- Average Order Value — Net revenue divided by number of orders
- Transactions — Total number of completed orders
Comparing periods
Use the comparison feature to see how a period compares to a previous one:
- This month vs. last month
- This quarter vs. same quarter last year
- Any custom date range vs. any other
Growth percentages are calculated automatically.
Tip: Don't just look at total revenue. The average order value and transaction count tell a deeper story. Falling revenue could mean fewer customers or smaller orders — the fix is different for each. Dig into the details to find the real insight.
Revenue by time of day
For businesses with distinct peak hours, the time-of-day breakdown shows when most revenue comes in. This can help you optimize staffing and operating hours.
