Google Calendar two-way sync

Mirror bookings to a Google Calendar each staff member already uses

What this does

Syncs every Wemu booking to a Google Calendar in both directions:

  • Wemu → Google — new bookings appear in the staff member's Google Calendar instantly
  • Google → Wemu — events blocked out in Google (lunch, doctor's appointment) show as busy in the Wemu booking flow so customers can't double-book

Connect Google Calendar

📍

Navigate to: Settings → Integrations → Google Calendar

  1. Tap Connect Google Calendar
  2. Sign in to the Google account that owns the calendar (use the business's team Google account if you have one)
  3. Grant Wemu calendar read + write permissions
  4. Pick which calendar to sync (e.g. "Work", "Staff schedule")
  5. Save — initial sync takes ~30 seconds for existing bookings

Per-staff calendars

Each team member can connect their own Google Calendar from Profile → Calendar Sync — their bookings sync to their personal calendar.

What syncs

  • Appointment start + end time
  • Service name → Google event title
  • Customer name + phone → Google event description
  • Branch / location → Google event location

What doesn't sync

  • Order items (non-service products — those don't have a time component)
  • Cancelled events — Wemu keeps them for audit, Google reflects them as cancelled

Bi-directional quirks

When you block time in Google (e.g. "1pm Dentist"), that hour shows as unavailable in Wemu so customers can't book during it. Don't block entire days in Google unless you want Wemu bookings for that day to disappear too.

Disconnecting

Settings → Integrations → Google Calendar → Disconnect. Wemu stops pushing/pulling; existing synced events stay put in both systems.
