Google Calendar sync

How it works

Each branch can connect one Google account. Wemu uses that account's main calendar:

• Wemu to Google: online bookings for the branch, and bookings and tasks your team adds or changes for the branch, are added to the calendar and kept up to date. Online booking events include the customer's name, email, phone and notes.
• Google to Wemu: events in that calendar come into Wemu as tasks for the branch, assigned to the person who connected it. When real-time sync is on, changes in Google come through within moments, and events deleted in Google are archived in Wemu.

Connecting a branch

1. Under Branches, press Connect with Google on the branch
2. Sign in to the Google account whose calendar you want to use, and allow access
3. You come back to Wemu, and the branch shows Connected with the account's email

Each branch can use a different Google account.

Keeping it in step

• Sync Now pulls events from the last 30 days and the next 90 days, and sends the connected person's tasks that aren't in Google yet
• The dot under the branch shows whether Real-time sync is on, and when it last synced
• Disconnect stops syncing. Events already copied stay in both places.

Not available

• A separate calendar for each team member. Each branch has one Google account.
• Choosing a calendar other than the account's main one
• Google events blocking online booking times. They arrive as tasks, and tasks don't block booking times, so add time off or change the shift instead. See Staff leave.

Known issue

Online bookings can show in Google at the wrong time of day for businesses outside the UTC time zone. Bookings and tasks your team adds in Wemu show at the right time. Check the time in Wemu if they don't match.
