How commissions work in Wemu
Commissions let you pay team members based on the services they perform or products they sell. Wemu tracks commissions automatically so you can see exactly what each person has earned.
Navigate to: Sidebar → Team → Select Member → Commissions tab
Types of commissions
- Percentage-based — The team member earns a percentage of the service or sale price. For example, a stylist earns 40% of every haircut.
- Fixed amount — The team member earns a flat fee per service. For example, $15 per massage regardless of the massage price.
Setting up commissions
- Go to Team and open a team member's profile
- Navigate to the Commissions tab
- Tap + Add Commission Rule
- Select the service or product the rule applies to
- Choose the type: Percentage or Fixed
- Enter the rate (e.g., 40% or $15)
- Save the rule

Commission per service
You can set different commission rates for different services. For example:
- Haircut — 40% commission
- Color Treatment — 35% commission
- Product Sales — 10% commission
This reflects the reality that some services require more skill or time.
Viewing commission reports
Wemu automatically calculates commissions based on completed bookings and sales. To see the breakdown:
- Go to Reports > Team Performance
- Select a team member and date range
- View total commissions earned, broken down by service
Tip: Review commission structures quarterly. If a service isn't attracting providers, the commission might be too low. If margins are tight, the rate might be too high. Finding the right balance keeps both your team and your bottom line healthy.
Commission on product sales
You can also set commissions for product sales at the POS. If a team member rings up a sale, they earn their commission on it. This can incentivize your team to recommend products to clients.
Multiple commission rules
A team member can have different rules for different services and products. Wemu applies the correct rate automatically based on what was sold or booked.
