How open/closed status works
Your public profile shows a live indicator of whether your business is currently open or closed. This status updates automatically based on the business hours you've configured for each location.
Navigate to: Settings → Business Profile → Business Hours
Automatic status
Wemu checks your configured operating hours and displays:
- Open (green indicator) — During operating hours
- Closed (red indicator) — Outside operating hours
- Closing Soon — Within the last 30 minutes of operating hours
No manual action is needed. As long as your hours are set correctly, the status is accurate.

Setting your hours
- Go to Settings > Locations (or Settings > Business Hours for single-location)
- For each day of the week, set your opening and closing times
- Toggle off days you're closed
- Save
The open/closed status immediately reflects your hours.
Temporary closures
If you need to close temporarily (for a holiday, renovation, or emergency):
- Go to Settings > Public Profile
- Toggle Temporarily Closed
- Optionally add a message (e.g., "Closed for renovation. Back on March 15!")
- Your profile shows the closure notice instead of the open/closed indicator
When you're ready to reopen, toggle it back off.
Special hours
For holidays or special events with modified hours:
- Go to Settings > Locations > Special Hours
- Add the date
- Set modified hours or mark as closed
- Save
Your profile will show the special hours for that date.
Tip: Always update your hours ahead of holidays. Customers trust the open/closed indicator on your profile. If it says "Open" but you're actually closed, you'll frustrate customers who show up expecting to be served.
Impact on bookings
When your business is closed (either outside operating hours or temporarily closed), customers can't book appointments for those times. The booking calendar only shows slots within open hours.
