Opening the drawer
At the start of each shift:
- Tap the wallet icon in the top bar
- Enter your opening float (e.g. $200)
- Tap Open drawer
The app prompts you on first sign-in of the shift if the drawer isn't open yet.
What gets tracked automatically
Every cash sale, cash refund, and tip in cash auto-records to the drawer. You'll see a timeline of movements:
- Opening float — your starting cash
- Sales — one entry per cash sale
- Refunds — cash refunds subtract
- Cash in — manual deposit (e.g. change run)
- Cash out — manual withdrawal (e.g. paying a supplier out of the till)
Cash in / cash out
Need to pull cash for a delivery or drop a change run into the drawer?
- Open the drawer screen
- Cash in or Cash out → enter the amount + a reason
- The movement shows up on the timeline + in reports
Closing the drawer
At the end of the shift:
- Drawer screen → Close drawer (red button at the bottom)
- The close-out sheet shows a full breakdown:
- Opening float
- Cash sales (count + total)
- Cash in
- Cash out
- Refunds (cash)
- Expected in drawer — the authoritative figure
- Physically count the cash, enter it in Counted cash
- The sheet shows Match, Over, or Short with the exact diff
- Add a note if there's a discrepancy (helps auditing later)
- Tap Print summary to print to any configured receipt printer
- Tap Close drawer to end the session
Survives crashes
Drawer state auto-persists to local storage on every movement. If the app crashes or the tablet reboots, you reopen the app and the drawer is exactly where you left it — opening float, every movement, the lot.
Multiple staff sharing one drawer
Whoever signs in with their PIN is stamped on each cash movement, but the drawer itself is device-scoped. If you run two tills, each has its own drawer.
