Wemu POS

Setting up receipt and kitchen printers

Pair Bluetooth printers, add LAN printers, and route tickets to the right station

Supported printers

Wemu POS works with any ESC/POS-compatible thermal receipt printer — the standard most industry printers follow. Common brands:

  • Star Micronics — TSP100, SP700, mPOP — all supported (USB, LAN, Bluetooth variants)
  • Epson — TM-m10, TM-m30, TM-T88 series — all supported
  • Bixolon — SRP series — supported
  • Generic 58mm / 80mm Bluetooth printers from AliExpress / Amazon — usually work

Paper sizes

  • 58mm — compact, one-handed, great for receipts at a coffee cart or pop-up
  • 80mm — standard counter width, more readable for long orders and kitchen tickets

Both are supported; Wemu auto-renders receipts to match the paper size of the target printer.

Adding a printer

Settings → Printers → + Add printer

### Bluetooth

  1. Power the printer on and put it in pairing mode (long-press the feed button until it beeps, check the manual)
  2. In Wemu POS, tap Scan — nearby printers appear
  3. Tap the one you want to pair
  4. Give it a name ("Front counter", "Kitchen", "Bar")
  5. Pick a category — this drives what gets routed here

### LAN (Wi-Fi)

  1. Find the printer's IP (print a self-test page — usually holds the feed button while power-on)
  2. Make sure the printer is on the same network as the POS device
  3. In Wemu POS → + Add printerManual (LAN)
  4. Enter IP, port (9100 for most Epson/Star/Bixolon), paper size
  5. Name + category

Printer categories

Each printer is tagged with one of these categories:

  • Receipt — customer receipts (printed after payment)
  • Kitchen — food items route here
  • Bar — alcoholic drinks
  • Coffee — coffee + other hot drinks
  • Dessert — pastries and cakes
  • Grill — grill-station food
  • Custom — define your own routing rules

The POS automatically routes each order line to the category matching the product's assigned station (set on the product's web detail page).

Testing a printer

After adding, tap Test print — prints a page with the printer name and a sample formatted receipt. If nothing prints, check:

  • Printer power / paper
  • Bluetooth pairing (re-pair if needed)
  • LAN: ping the IP from a browser / networking app

Multiple copies

Receipt printers can auto-print 2 copies per sale (customer + merchant). Toggle this in the printer's edit screen.

Troubleshooting garbled receipts

If the printed text is garbled:

  • Bluetooth printers often need forceUtf8 — enabled by default in Wemu POS for all BT devices
  • Old firmware — check for a firmware update from the manufacturer
  • Wrong paper width — edit the printer and change 80mm ↔ 58mm
