Order types in Wemu
Wemu supports multiple order types to match how your business operates:
- Dine-in — Customer eats or receives the service on premises
- Takeout — Customer picks up the order
- Delivery — Order is delivered to the customer
- Online — Order placed through your public profile
Navigate to: Sidebar → Orders → + New Order
Creating a new order
- Go to Orders or open the POS
- Tap + New Order
- Select the order type (dine-in, takeout, delivery, online)
- Add products or services to the order by searching or scanning
- Select a customer or create a new one
- Apply any discounts if needed
- Choose the payment method
- Tap Complete Order

Adding items to an order
You can add items in several ways:
- Search by name in the product search bar
- Scan a barcode using your device camera or a connected scanner
- Browse categories and tap items to add them
- Quick-add items from your favorites list
Applying discounts
Wemu supports percentage and fixed-amount discounts:
- Tap the Discount button on the order
- Choose percentage (e.g., 10% off) or fixed (e.g., $5 off)
- Enter the amount
- The total updates automatically
Payment methods
Accept payments via:
- Cash
- Credit/debit card
- Split payment (part cash, part card)
- Online payment (for orders from your public profile)
Tip: Use the customer field on every order, even for walk-ins. This builds your customer database and lets you track purchase history, which is valuable for marketing and loyalty programs.
Order notes
Add notes to an order for special instructions. These are visible to the team processing the order, which is especially useful for delivery and takeout orders with customization requests.
